  33.    Atlas Preview Release Version is being distributed as both a
  34.    16-bit Windows program and a 32-bit windows program.
  35.  
  36.    If you are running Windows 3.x or WFW, you MUST use the
  37.    16-bit Navigator even if you have Win32s installed. If you are
  38.    running Windows 95 or Windows NT, use the 32-bit Navigator. To
  39.    run the 32bit Navigator, you MUST have a 32-bit TCP/IP stack.
  40.    Both Windows 95 and Windows NT provide 32bit TCP/IP stacks
  41.    that you can setup.

  43.    To obtain a copy of Netscape Navigator, first download one of
  44.    the self-extracting executable files into a temporary directory
  45.  
  46.         for 16-bit : atls16s2.exe (With PLUG-INS)
  47.                    : atls16m2.exe (Without PLUG-INS)
  48.         for 32-bit : atls32s2.exe (With PLUG-INS)
  49.                    : atls32m2.exe (Without PLUG-INS)

  51.    For 16-bit users, first double click on the self-extracting
  52.    file in the File Manager, then run the setup.exe program to
  53.    install Netscape Navigator on your machine.

  55.    For 32-bit users, double click on the self-extracting file
  56.    to start the installation.

  58. * For Win95 users, if you are using any versions prior to this
  59.   release, you will get multiple uninstall entries in your
  60.   Add/Remove program.  If you prefer not having multiple
  61.   entries, you should do an uninstall to remove your previous
  62.   version of Netscape before you install the new release.

  64. * NAPLAYER, the Netscape audio player, will only work if you have
  65.   a sound card installed and configured properly. It will not work
  66.   with the PC speaker driver. Please check your sound card manual
  67.   to configure the sound card.

  69. * CoolTalk is enabled in both 16-bit and 32-bit version. There are
  70.   problems running Cooltalk with Matrox MGA Millennium graphic 
  71.   adapters using early Windows95 drivers. Make sure that you are 
  72.   running version 2.22.039 or above.

  74. * CoolTalk and AVI Plugins in 16-bit version requires Video for 
  75.   Windows.

  77. * Video for Windows is recommended to take full advantage of the 
  78.   Multimedia features. You can download Video for Windows from

  99. unable to install the Netscape Navigator unless you upgrade to
  100. version 1.20 (or above) of Win32s or you remove Win32.

  130.                         Running Netscape

  133. What do I need to run Netscape Navigator?
  134.  
  135. You must have a direct Internet connection before you can use
  136. Netscape. The ability to send and receive e-mail does not
  137. necessarily mean you can run Netscape. There are three
  138. requirements for Netscape Navigator:
  139.  
  140.     1. A direct Ethernet connection to the net, or a dialup
  141.        SLIP or PPP account from an Internet service provider.
  142.  
  143.     2. TCP/IP stack
  144.  
  145.     3. Netscape Navigator software
  146.  
  147. You can get a direct connection to the Internet through a service
  148. provider in your area.  You will need to get a SLIP or a PPP
  149. account from an Internet provider (for a dialup account).
  150.  
  151. When you have full Internet connectivity, you need to have a
  152. TCP/IP stack, dialer, and WINSOCK.DLL file.
  153.  
  154. If you get the error message "Cannot find WINSOCK.DLL" when
  155. running Netscape Navigator, this means your computer is looking
  156. for the WINSOCK.DLL file that is part of a winsock package.

  162. The Netscape installer will overwrite existing OLE2 DLLs with the
  163. latest versions for US Windows. This will not affect 32-bit
  164. Windows. For 16-bit Windows, the only difference between the US
  165. and the Japanese versions are the internationalization of error
  166. strings. Occasionally, the Japanese user may see an English
  167. language OLE2 error message after installing Netscape. Currently,
  168. there are no Japanese versions available for the OLE2 DLLs.
  169. Netscape is working with Microsoft to make the Japanese version of
  170. the OLE2 DLLs available.
